Use these scripts with any version of System 7 (including Power Macintosh), provided that the following software is present:
• Frontier Runtime Preferences in the Preferences folder in the System Folder.
• The Frontier Runtime application, included on the Apple Events disk with QuarkXPress, or UserLand Frontier.
• The Frontier Menu Sharing XTension in your QuarkXPress folder, or in the XTension folder in your QuarkXPress folder, when you launch QuarkXPress.
Installing the Scripts
The scripts can be installed in either Frontier Runtime or UserLand Frontier.
1. Launch the application you want to install the scripts in — Frontier Runtime or UserLand Frontier. Do not have both applications running.
2. Select the scripts you want to install at the Finder, then double-click to launch the installer.
• If you install the scripts in Frontier Runtime, the scripts are added to the QuarkXPress Scripts menu (the scripts are listed in the order you install them).
• If you install the scripts in UserLand Frontier, they are automatically added to the QXP.Examples table in the Frontier.root (the path is:root:system:verbs:
apps:QXP:examples).
3. Store the scripts on a disk or anywhere on your hard drive. Since a copy of each script is installed in your Runtime.root or Frontier.root, you do not need to keep the scripts on your hard drive.
Running the Scripts
1. Launch Frontier Runtime or UserLand Frontier.
2. Launch QuarkXPress. Frontier Runtime and the Frontier Menu Sharing XTension add a Scripts menu to the right of the QuarkXPress Utilities menu. If you are running UserLand Frontier, locate and open the script you want to run in the QXP.Examples table.
3. To use a script, choose it from the QuarkXPress Scripts menu.
4. Experiment with the scripts using the “Demo Document” in the Documentation and Demos folder.
